And that’s just the highlights. Alongside this very encouraging research, Garnier will also roll out some new environmental commitments of its own. Starting January 14, people in the U.K. will be able to access information online about Garnier’s environmental impact based on factors such as greenhouse gas emissions, water scarcity, and impact on biodiversity.
I’m never one to encouraging hopping on a bandwagon, but if there’s any bandwagon to jump on, it’s this one. Because even when we do try to recycle our plastic waste, only nine percent of it actually ends up being reused, per previous Allure reporting. And as it currently stands, shipping could be responsible for 10 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 (which isn’t as far away as it sounds).
So you haven’t taken the environment into consideration with your yearly goals and priorities, there’s no time like the present to start doing so. If a majority of the global population can do it, you’ll have no trouble joining along.
